SKIN - it’s our largest organ that provides protection for our internal organs, regulates our body temperature & allows us to experiences sensations.

I practised beauty therapy for 5 years and found so many of us (including myself) make mistakes with our skin that can make us age faster & damage our precious organ.

1. OVER DOING SKINCARE is a huge as there are so many products out there and we all want to try them!

Skincare can be thrilling with its cute packaging + hot girl influences pushing us to try all of this stuff!

But really we just need to keep it minimal to get maximum effects.

Things to consider:

- Make up removal / days free of make up.

- Cleansing with a gentle cleanser with lukewarm water.

- Moisturiser or serum keeps our skin supple and hydrated from the outside.

- Exfoliate only once a week with something really gentle or if you have sensitive skin even less often than that.

-Acne suffers love to exfoliate to try get rid of scars & oil but it really isn’t necessary. Healing from within first + gentle products work better than any clay mask, salicylic acid or AHA cleanser will do for you.

Salicylic acid by the way, is the active ingredient in aspirin IMAGINE HAVING TO METABOLISE this everyday when we are putting it on our skin.

- chemical free sunscreen to protect against ageing especially in winter months, you’ll thank me in 30 years.

2. NOT CONSIDERING NUTRITION/ LIFESTYLE.

They both play a huge role in how you body works in general, so that chocolate or alcohol definitely effects the biggest organ first!

Lack of sleep & water are detrimental when it comes the health of our skin.

Other factors to consider are sunlight, vitamin deficiencies such as Zinc, Vitamin A, C & D, allergies or immune suppression through medications/poor lifestyle choices like smoking & drug use.

3. USING PRODUCTS THAT ARE FULL OF CHEMICALS NATURAL PRODUCTS they work. Nature is healing through many avenues. Whatever you put on your skin, 70% of that gets absorbed into your bloodstream and your body has to work to get rid of it, either it is excreted or stored in cells. Most products haven’t been tested for their effects long term, so keep in mind this fact & remember to go as natural as possible. Clean & natural are huge right now, it’s not hard to swap or find something you love. There’s no excuses anymore
