I am here to tell you, it takes an army to heal & grow.
Ellnaturopathy aims to highlight women in business in the series; female icons.
Through having conversations, we can get to know and learn from our community.
This allows for divine healing and growth to unfold.
Everyone has something to share!

This weeks icon is Georga Holt.
Georga is a Naturopath & Dispensary manager at The Melbourne Apothecary whom i've been following on instagram religiously whilst I've been studying.
Georga makes naturopathy look so cool. Her instagram excites me to be a naturopath. I love reading her engaging posts covering all things including skin, gut health & overall wellness. Georga aims to understand the cause of your health concerns, as the cause directly assists positive health outcomes & treatments based on your personal needs.
Georga took the time out of her busy schedule to answer some questions about
naturopathy & herself.
How long have you been practising Naturopathy for?
" Wow, only 1.5 years (but feels like a lifetime). I also had a full year of practice in my final year of studying - so you could say just under 3 years. "
What first interested you in holistic medicine/health/naturopathy?
" It was when I actually went and saw a Naturopath for the first time. Prior to that I was so disengaged with my body, my health & anything to do with what I was putting in & on my body. I'm talking daily McDonalds chicken nuggets (yum - miss you), no water consumption & lack of movement. I walked out of that first session totally shocked about all the information I had learnt and how little I knew about my own body. I mean - we spend our entire life with this one body, so to not know how to check in with it & how it is feeling - feels like such a disservice to ourselves. "
What inspires you the most personally & professionally?
"Ooo this is a good one - Professionally . I feel like at the core it would be my parents for being such hard working role models to inspire me to achieve my goals & influenced the work ethic I have today. But day to day it would have to be my colleagues - I'm blessed to work in such a supportive environment where any thought/idea I have is nurtured until it becomes a real life thing. Personally - the people I surround myself. I count my blessings every single day for somehow finding such a weird & wonderful group of people that I call my friends (second family). As well as my health (both personally & professionally) - depending on how I feel & what time of my cycle I am in (IYKYK) will influence my inspiration & motivation levels. But when I speak about health - in 2019 my health went out the window (due to stress) which really stumped my motivation professionally but also personally, so I went through a little (& challenging) journey to find my feet again and when I came out on the other side (healthier & wiser) it truly fuelled my passion to help others out with similar issues (IBD friends - I'm looking at you). "
What do you do when you aren’t practising naturopathy?
"Well - I'm a Type A sort of gal - so in my spare time you will probably find me doing work, reading/listening to new research & anything educational to do with Gut / Skin / Hormones / Immune etc. But aside from that - I'm a sucker for a good binge on netflix/stan, cooking & eating yum food, walking my cute little (angel) cattle dog or doing all kinds of self care practices."
What is your favourite self care act?
"Wow you read my mind, self care for me: walking angel pup, reading, netflix binge, cooking, boogying with friends, face masks, facials & massages, exercising. My ultimate self care is a slow morning walk accompanied by a long black reading a book in the sun. "
What is the most satisfying part of being a practitioner?
"The connection I have with my patients & the collaborative work we do in terms of reaching their health goals is the reason I do what I do. Also - empowering & educating is a key thing for me - as that is what I got out of my first ever Naturopath appointment & if I can provide someone with the tools to take back control of their health - well then that is just a dream come true for me. "
Where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?
"For someone who is such an organisational freak, I actually struggle to plan a month in advance. So in 5-10 years, who knows. But I like the aspect of not sticking to the one role. Right now I'm a Naturopath, Personal Assistant, Dispensary Manager & Receptionist & I thrive off the diversity of each role. So something along the lines of that but potentially accompanied with a Sea change (get this girl to the coast STAT)."
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to your clients?
"Drink your water, sleep those 8 hours, move your body daily, learn to say NO & please love your body - it is your one & only home for your lifetime. "
